It is totally not safe to have unprotected sex with another HIV positive person if you are too! Some people actually think, "Oh, it's fine for two HIV positive people to engage in sex. They are both positive, so it's not like they can get anything worse!" WRONG! Accoding to my teach, Ms. Sharon Douglass, each person can have a different strand (yes, there are different strands of HIV) and transmitt it to the other partner. Then, one has to worry about new medication because the medication they are currently taking may not have any effect to the new strand. That is just waaaay too much to deal with. So people, be wise, and strap up EVERYTIME. (Infected or not)

This is similar to what my mom was telling me about universal precaution. If your partner has HIV and other STD's, you are taking the chance of inheriting every disease, NOT just HIV! This is why it is so important to use a condom every single time. Even if your partner says they are faithful to only you, you NEVER know! So why not just be on the safe side? It eases the mind when you know you're safe.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, coming into this course I thought that if you had HIV it would only be safe to have unprotected sex with another infected individual. But after reading ,The Naked Truth, a choice book I learn that you can indeed be reinfect each other causes more antibodies to be replicated in the body. I was shocked to learn this.
